Manipal ProLearn successfully conducted its first ever Advanced Certificate Program in Banking Analytics, which was held from 11th to 15th April, 2017. The five-day program was especially, designed for participants from SBI Bank. These 15 participants included Analysts, Statisticians, Client Engagement Managers and Risk Assurance Modellers, who were trained to become skilled Banking Analytics professionals by the end of the program.
Highlights of the program
The program also comprised of ‘home-work or pre-work’ for the enthusiastic participants to acquaint them with the field. The program focussed on concepts like Customer Acquisition, Risk Models, Customer Segmentation and Forecasting to explain the subject. Participants were also actively engaged during the session with interactive case studies from various industries like Insurance and Retail to name a few. The participants solved these case studies with the help of various Machine Learning and Statistical Techniques including clustering, regression and time series techniques using R programming.
Split into sections like Introduction, Context Setting, Program Overview, Mid-term feedback, and Key Takeaways the program was well-constructed to ensure the transformation of the participants into professionals ready to take over the field of Business Analytics.
Dr. Ramesh Babu, Director - Data Science and Digital Products, Manipal ProLearn, Mr. Anurag (Former Chief Data Officer, HSBC), Dr. Srinivas P (AI expert, Former President of ACM, India) and Mr. Bhaskaran Srinivasan, Academic Director, Manipal ProLearn were among the key speakers at the session. Mr. R N Prasad Subhashini, was the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and the facilitator of the program.
Based on the overwhelming response of the participants, Manipal ProLearn will be training another batch of learners in the coming week. This initiative by ProLearn will help foster stronger ties between data science and banking industries while building effective Domain Analytics programs.
