India’s large population and huge diversity make the country an ideal place for any kind of big data exercise. Every industry today is benefiting from big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of things (IoT). For instance, Dutch brewer Heineken has been a worldwide brewing leader for the last 150 years. Today, as the No. 1 brewer in Europe and No. 2 in the world, the company is ramping up its production thanks to the use of big data and AI, as per Forbes.
As we mentioned earlier, India is not far behind in putting data science to the best use. The India government headed by PM Narendra Modi recently revealed that it is relying on AI and data mining to identify illegal activities of certain organizations that are listed under the stroked-off entities.
How is the Indian government using big data and AI?
The Ministry of State for Corporate Affairs with the help of information gathered from banks stated that some deregistered companies have been involved in withdrawing and depositing about Rs.17,000 crore during demonetization in the month of November last year.
The process of data mining of deregistered companies is currently in process by the Indian government. In the prevention of black money menace, names of more than 2.24 lakh companies have been struck off from the records. Over three lakh directors have been barred from directorship for their associations with such firms, sources Economic Times. The government will continue to depend on Artificial Intelligence to identify such illegal activities practiced by companies.
Big data and AI have together come to the help of a lot of Indian citizens in the form of better customer experience and improvement of government efficiency, especially in the delivery of services. Big data analytics, which merges into fields like deep learning, machine learning and AI, has tremendous possibilities.
Limitless opportunities for India
With India currently among the top ten countries in terms of data analytics, the opportunities are limitless in the nation. Analysts are working on real-time monitoring systems and connected platforms with the help of data and analytical insights to optimize their services.
How can big data and AI help create smart applications?
Big data and AI help protect information privacy. Certain advancements have created certain intelligent technologies that we see in our everyday lives, which are all gifts of AI. From photo tags on social media to recommendations on our favourite retail sites or eateries, many common online conveniences are powered by artificial intelligence. Availability of data has increased the efficacy of human intentions and helped vastly in decision-making.
Future of big data and AI
By 2020 certain analysts predict that technologies that will use AI will be there in almost every service and product. Humans think that AI will replace them and their jobs in the near future. But the reality is that, AI will only increase and develop the human work. It is not a very difficult imagination for our future wars to be led by hackers and data scientists instead of soldiers. After all, big data and AI are systems that are going to reshape the future in a decade.
